The ten-year warranty (garantie décennale) is a mandatory insurance for any building professional — tradesperson, self-employed, company or project manager — carrying out construction work.

It covers, for 10 years after completion of the works, damage that compromises the soundness of the structure or makes it unfit for its purpose.

Without a décennale certificate, practising is illegal and exposes you to heavy penalties. It is also an essential mark of trust for your clients.
